Counselling
We can all benefit from a compassionate listener. Having our story reflected back helps clarify and organize our thoughts. Respectfully honouring the processes of mind, body and spirit opens doorways to the safety of curiosity, the possibility of self-trust and a deepened relationship with your vibrant self.
I am a Registerd Clinical Counsellor (RCC) offering online counselling sessions by appointment to clients in British Columbia, Canada.
Virtual counselling using video technology or the phone is an effective modality that still allows for a strong personal connection.

Journalling for Change
One way to shine the light of attention on difficulties is through writing. Insights often reveal themselves when thoughts and feelings are put down on paper. Journal writing helps you pay attention to what you pay attention to. They are a vehicle for unlayering, discovering and creating a sense of self. Known to creative people from Leonardo da Vinci to Anais Nin, journals have been used to release tension, resolved conflict, work through crises and connect with deeper intuitive impulses. They help us get to know the person within, touch our source of inner guidance, wisdom and our innate spiritual advisor.
If this approach appeals to you, I have extensive experience and belief in the healing power of the written word/journalling as a path to inner knowing. I will support you with practices and skills that are targeted to meet your needs and goals. And … one of the beautiful things about journalling is there is no wrong way to do it, there is only your way!
Grief and Past Loss Counselling
Grief brings an unfamiliar combination of feelings, thoughts and sensations that vary in intensity. Grief is a natural, a normal response to loss and its power can take you by surprise. It can shatter your world! It can hijack your heart, brain and body in ways that make you feel you are not yourself. Your grief may resurrect historic losses, old issues and unresolved feelings from the past. Tumultuous emotions are common in grief and it helps to acknowledge them. As you try to make sense of this new reality, don’t be surprised if you feel more anger, frustration, annoyance, exasperation, resentment and/or even fury, than you normally do. Most importantly your grief is your own. Like the relationship you shared with your loved one who died, your grief will be unique to you.
As a bereavement counsellor I accompany clients on their individual journey of healing and discovery. Grieving calls in new aspects of self and life and together we uncover processes and meaning that are authentically yours.
Conversation; Connected, Compassionate, Accepting
It is quite simple. We all desire to be seen and truly heard. Holding space for someone to talk about what is alive in them in that moment, is the greatest gift counselling can offer. It leads to a path of discovery and compassion for whatever distress or indecision you are experiencing.
Turning inward to hear your own voice is where healing begins. Counselling strengthens connection to this inner knowing. When painful emotions and negative, automatic thoughts are seen they offer up their needs and wisdom. Tara Brach says we can access limitless empathy, self-knowledge, self-compassion and wonder when we let the body show us the aliveness of the present moment. I have personally experienced this many times and have come to trust that turning within is a courageous act with potentially life changing results. Together, we will find and follow what leads you most successfully to wholeness.
